As part of the Chula Vista Elementary School District, Windingwalk’s children may be eligible to attend Corky McMillin Elementary School, a K-6 year-round school opened in 2001 less than three miles west of Windingwalk. It is comprised of 5 main classroom buildings, 4 portable classrooms, Library/Media Center, an auditorium/cafeteria complex, outdoor lunch court, a YMCA childcare center and an administration/health facility. McMillin Elementary also offers free English classes for adults in collaboration with Chula Vista Adult School and their Community-Based English Tutoring (CBET) program. Childcare is provided for children ages 3 and up, and refreshments and snacks are also served. You can register in class with the teacher at any point during the semester. Approximately 150 9th grade students will begin classes this fall at the school’s temporary site at Mater Dei High school. High Tech High will transition to its new campus once construction is completed, currently scheduled for fall 2008.
